The Los Angeles office of SmithGroup is looking for a Regional IT Manager to join our team. This position is available out of the Los Angeles SmithGroup office, it is also available to sit out of our San Francisco or San Diego office.
Working with us, you will:
- Champions the best possible IT service for all SmithGroup staff and clients.
- Collaborates with senior IT leadership to develop our long-range technology direction, budget and R+D areas of focus.
- Participates in and/or leads firm-wide IT initiatives and projects.
- Ensures all new hires receive the appropriate IT on-boarding.
- Maintains regular communication with office leadership in their region.
- Ensures the streamlined operation of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization.
- Oversees asset management including hardware deployment, management and end-of-life strategy and execution for all offices within the region.
- Ensures firm-wide IT standards, training and best practices are being implemented and updated.
- Directs day-to-day IT operations within their region.
- Leads coaching and mentorship for IT staff in their region.
- Collaborates with the Infrastructure team to ensure local office IT Infrastructure is maintained.
- Actively contributes to helpdesk tasks to support SmithGroup staff across the firm.
- Periodic travel (up to once a quarter) to each office location in the region.
An ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management, or related field, preferred.
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years of leadership/management experience within Information Technology. Experience with Architecture/Engineering firms preferred.
- Strong knowledge of innovation within the IT industry and experience with the architecture, engineering, and construction fields to drive strategy for the firm.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to collaborate, maximize efficiencies, embrace change, communicate effectively, and drive innovation.
- Proven project management skills.
- Experience managing multiple locations and remote staff.
