San Diego Powder and Protective Coatings is a fast paced, dynamic company serving a variety of products from civilian and military customers.
Hours of operation: Monday-Friday 6:00-2:30, some Saturday’s depending on operational demands. Many maintenance duties will be required outside of operating hours.
Description:
The Maintenance Tech position is intended to be a general knowledge position covering a wide range of responsibility to assisting SDPPC. Knowledge to include but not limited to a combination of:
• Electrical, single and three phase components
• Shop welding
• Familiarity with standard shop hand tool
• Familiarity with standard shop power and pneumatic tools
• Forklift and forklift maintenance experience a plus
• Automotive maintenance
• Basic HVAC
• Basic plumbing
• Sand blasting experience a plus
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, e-mail) a plus not required
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to effectively perform duties with minimal direct supervision
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Must be able to adhere to established preventative maintenance systems
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Must be able to perform basic math skills
• Able to positively interact with customers and coworkers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, walk, talk and hear
• Occasionally sit, climb or balance
• Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in outside weather conditions (sunny, wet and/or humid conditions)
