Managed Care Coordinator

Our client, a large non-profit healthcare facility is seeking a qualified candidate to work a 3 MONTH TEMPORARY assignment as a managed care coordinator. This role starts ASAP.

Location: Lower Manhattan

Hourly pay: $21.00 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

The Tier 1 Managed Care Coordinator (MCC) is expected to ensure high quality, cost-effective care and services for Home First and/or Elderplan members through support of professional Care Management and/or Medical Management activities.

The position supports all aspects of care coordination for our Medicare, Medicaid and/or dual members in compliance with all departmental and CMS/DOH regulatory requirements.

The position requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail to facilitate superior care coordinator and to act as a liaison between the Care & Case Management, Utilization Management, Members, Providers, Hospitals, and vendors.

The Ideal candidate and job responsibilities:

• Receives and coordinates notification of all inpatients (planned and unplanned) acute admissions and discharges.
• Receive and process initial requests and inquiries regarding preauthorization of services/supplies.
• Vendor communication, coordination and/or authorization.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; College Degree preferred.
• One-year prior managed care experience required.
• Prior experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Familiarity with utilization management/case management
