Rising Hope Mission Church (United Methodist) is a safe place where you can gain spiritual and physical sustenance. We have several worship opportunities available and offer assistance through our Food Market, Rising Hope Kitchen, Hope Closet, Hypothermia Shelter, and countless other need-based services.
The Program Support Associate reports to the Food and Nutrition Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain a culture that exemplifies Rising Hope’s core tenants of creating a loving and inclusive environment for all persons.
- Exemplify the standards necessary to lead within a faith community environment.
- Ensure shelves and storage are stocked appropriately to run efficiently
- Receive donations for Food Market
- Receive clothing and household goods and distribute items to Hope Closet/Market/Donation
- Maintain the physical logs approved by Rising Hope for record-keeping of all in-kind donations.
- Assist and direct volunteers in the stocking of items in the Food Market
- Determine, based on inventory, quantities of food to be distributed during Market hours.
- Maintain Food Market to meet highest standards of cleanliness and ensure proper food handling in accordance with government procedures and guidelines
- Participate in training as required by Rising Hope
- Ensure all boxes are broken down and placed in recycling bins neatly.
- Ensure all equipment used for market operation is properly stored after each use.
- Ensure storage, halls, stairways and outside loading areas are clean and free of debris.
- Ensure scrap/damaged/expired food items are stored neatly and are accessible for pickup.
- Help with general building and grounds maintenance/program support
- Other duties as assigned
Work Hours and Benefits:
- Full-time:
- 35-40 hours per week
- Some weekends may be required.
- $15-$17 per hour based on experience

Skills and Qualifications
- Must be an advocate of the highest ideals of the spirit and vision of Rising Hope Mission Church
- Must be able to relate comfortably and confidently with people from very diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Must be discreet, confidential and respectful, both of volunteers and of food market guests
- Must be welcoming, positive, enthusiastic, compassionate, non-judgmental and supportive
- Must be able to balance working on own initiative with being part of a team
- Ability to repetitively lift at minimum 50 pounds
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to pass a background check in order to supervise student volunteers
- Servsafe Qualified preferred but not required
- Spanish preferred but not required

- Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
