Wombat Mental Health Services LCSW PC (Wombat MHS) offers culturally appropriate treatment and community resources focused on the individual’s needs. With a passion for social justice, Wombat MHS focuses on assisting underserved communities including Deaf, Disabled, LGBTQIA2S, BIPOC, and individuals challenged with accessing mental health services.
Under the supervision of a Licensed Clinician Supervisor, the Associate Clinician I (AC I) will provide mental health services, including but not limited to individual and/or group counseling, clinical intake/evaluation, crises intervention, therapeutic activities, community presentations, and clinical case management. The AC will gain supervised clinical hours for licensure while providing the appropriate level of behavioral health services and substance use disorder services for Wombat MHS clients.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Complete behavioral health intakes, bio-psychosocial assessments; develop treatment plans that address the collaborative clinical goals of clinician and client and document treatment progress notes; provide treatment termination & case closure.
• Provide individual, couple, and group counseling, building a caseload with a goal of averaging 30 hours of billable services delivered per week.
• Identify community-based resources and referrals to facilitate access to higher-level services for clients with greater need than WMHS can directly provide.
• Maintain client behavioral health files and document services in EHR and/or other charting and data collection systems as appropriate, performed in a timely and accurate fashion in accordance with program policies and professional standards of care.
• Adhere to all applicable professional, legal, and ethical standards of behavioral health practice in the provision of services, including but not limited to: mandated reporting, provision of effective services, case documentation, client confidentiality/HIPAA regulations, ensuring client safety, and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Attend supervisorial (group and individual) meetings, trainings, case conference meetings, and staff meetings as required.
• Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
Requirements
• Qualifying master's degree for licensure in a behavioral health field under the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences
• Current, valid registration number in appropriate behavioral health field (ACSW, AMFT, APCC).
• 500 to 1,500 hours of clinical supervision accrued toward licensure.
• Direct experience working with LGBTQIA2S+ populations.
• Maintain permanent residence in California and conduct job duties within the state of California.
• Reliable, consistent internet connection.
• Functioning cellular phone with reliable, consistent connection for two/multi-factor authentication.
Preferred Competencies
• Experience working with any of the following populations: Deaf, disabled, BIPOC, Kink/BDSM, Poly/ENM.
• Experience with gender exploration and gender-affirming care.
• Multilingual (especially ASL).
• Experience utilizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
This is a remote position which will allow the employee to work remotely 100% of the time. This position requires daily use of a personal computer and internet connection, a personal cellular phone and cellular phone connection. The position also requires entering, viewing, and revising text and graphics on the computer terminal and on paper. This position may require occasional bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, and moving of office materials weighing 25 pounds or less.
