Job Overview:
Furnsaj Bakery and Restaurant is seeking a personable, reliable, and efficient Cashier to join our team in Granada Hills. As a Cashier, you will be the face of our establishment, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions for guests. You will handle cash and credit card payments, assist with taking orders, and contribute to a positive and welcoming environment in our bakery and restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly as they enter the bakery and restaurant, providing a friendly and professional atmosphere.
Accurately process customer transactions, including cash, credit, and mobile payments, ensuring precise change and receipts.
Assist customers with any inquiries about the menu, specials, or bakery offerings.
Bag bakery items or package food for takeout with care, ensuring that items are properly prepared and presented.
Maintain a clean and organized cashier station, including keeping the front-of-house area tidy and welcoming.
Handle customer concerns or complaints with professionalism, directing any unresolved issues to a supervisor or manager.
Keep track of and process customer orders, ensuring they are prepared and delivered promptly.
Collaborate with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth service and quick turnover during busy hours.
Assist with restocking inventory and maintaining stock levels for bakery items, beverages, and packaging materials.
Ensure that the register is balanced at the start and end of each shift, maintaining accuracy in all financial transactions.
Follow all health and safety standards, including food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures.
Help promote positive customer experiences by providing excellent service and fostering a welcoming environment.
Perform opening and closing duties as needed, including cashing out and preparing the restaurant for the next shift.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role, preferably in a food service environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
Ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a calm, positive manner.
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Knowledge of food safety practices and cleanliness standards is a plus.
Armenian or Arabic speaking preferred to better serve our diverse customer base.
Bilingual (English/Armenian/Arabic) is a plus but not required.
