FT Specimen Processor, Monday-Friday; 12am-8:30am
Pay rate depending on experience, $18.00-$19.00hr.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Responsibilities:
To receive and sort incoming samples to assist in a streamlined workflow for the accessioning department.
To check each sample and their attached documents for quality, clarity, and accuracy; note down any discrepancies to standard protocol.
To accurately enter patient and client information and submit test(s) to be performed for the patient.
To ensure that all documents are linked to the correct patient accounts once they have been stored in the server.
To enter any relevant patient demographics and billing information needed to process the samples.
To be comfortable with extended periods of computer use.
To be able to work and communicate with a team of employees in an effective and professional manner.
To be mentally flexible and stay updated on future protocol changes.
SKILLS|EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 2 months of training in specimen collection if no prior experience noted.
Proper knowledge of specimen collection appropriate to the test ordered, i.e., requirements for lab test(s)
Awareness of the factors that influence test results
Knowledge of medical (laboratory) terminology helpful
