Job description
We seek a sharp, driven, and attention to detail experienced Woodworker or Woodworker Apprentice to join our team in Huntington Park, CA. Someone with a strong desire to learn and develop woodwork skillsets to contribute in the process and completion of high-end custom wood products.
· Responsible for helping Custom shop department supervisor with various production tasks
· Lift wood pieces onto machines by hand
· Build custom-made molding/stair parts using hand tools
· Set up, operate, and use a nail gun
· Cut, shape, and smooth wooden parts
· Sand products using sandpaper
· Complete all stages of the woodworking process
· Apply paint, putty, and other solvents to raw wood
· Ensure the wood isn’t cracked or swollen
· Punctuality and attendance are required and essential functions of the job.
· Custom glue work
· Wood distressing
· Lumber sorting
· Maintain well-organized and productive work areas
· Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
All candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and physical exam to be considered for this role
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, move and handle up to 50 pounds frequently to stack and load finished products for transport to other departments or stock.
- Ability to stand/ walk for an extended period of time
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, squat, and climb.
Safety Requirements:
- Required to wear steel toe shoes
- Required to wear eye protection
- Required to wear hearing protection
- Trained on proper lifting techniques. When lifting 50 pounds it is required to use the buddy system. (Training Provided)
- Required to wear safety gloves
- Safety belt is recommended when repetitive lifting is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
