Position: Full-Time Litigation/Discovery Paralegal
Location: Huntington Beach, CA
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. but might adjust to suit
Position Summary
Huntington Beach boutique construction law office seeks a Senior Litigation & Discovery Paralegal to support our growing caseload of complex contract disputes. This position is ideal for a mature, detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of the litigation process and a strong command of discovery procedures. Position Details:
Our practice centers on construction contract disputes, though prior construction law experience is not required. We are looking for a legal professional who thrives in litigation support roles and has a track record of managing discovery-heavy cases with minimal oversight.
The position’s work description includes, but is not limited to:
• Conduct and manage comprehensive discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas
• Prepare and respond to discovery motions, as well as draft pleadings and settlement documents
• Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, summaries, and timelines
• Investigate and analyze factual evidence; prepare clear charts, spreadsheets, and visual aids
• Maintain case files and organize voluminous documents for litigation purposes
• Manage communications with clients, counsel, and court personnel
• Track deadlines and maintain case management databases accurately
• Heavy emphasis on document drafting, especially discovery motions
Qualifications:
• Mature work ethic and professional demeanor
• Certificate or degree from an accredited paralegal program (associate’s degree or higher preferred)
• 5–10+ years of litigation experience, with a strong emphasis on discovery and motion work
• Skilled in Microsoft Office and document management systems
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word
• Excellent written, verbal, proofreading, and organizational skills
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines
