Ice Rink – (Ice Resurfacer & Zamboni) Description This position is responsible for performing rink resurfacing at designated times and the maintenance of two ice rinks at the Aviator Sports and Events Center. This position works independently under general supervision of the Executive Director of Ice Operations and Facility Director. Several schedules are open - Monday-Friday evenings (time varies between 4pm-12am), Saturday and Sunday daytime and evening shifts. Must be flexible with working evenings and weekends. Essential Functions Ø Responsible for the maintenance of two ice surfaces and maintaining equipment in ideal working conditions including cross-cutting, edging, and flooding when needed. Ø Complete daily ice forms which include ice depth, ice rink temperatures, and building conditions. Ø Oversee the ice installation. Ø Maintenance of the ice plant to ensure safety and responding to emergencies. Ensuring that ice surfaces produce ideal skating conditions. Ø Assist with HVAC equipment to ensure building temperatures and humidity level are at the desired range for ideal ice conditions. Ø Daily ice conditioning, Zamboni maintenance, edge conditioning, etc Ø Train selected staff on driving the Zamboni ice resurfaces equipment. Ø Organizing day-to-day operations of the ice rinks. Ø Create ice rink schedule and service ice rinks. Ø Repair ice rink equipment as needed. Ø Provide staff daily ice rink maintenance schedule. Ø Work with Director to set Aviator policy and procedures for the Ice Rinks. Ø Obtain and maintain all relevant licenses and certifications. Ø Require training on building systems. Ø Work with the Director to facilitate a clean and friendly environment. Ø On call as needed Qualifications/Requirements Must be able to work evenings (through 1145 pm) and weekend hours. Some scheduled shifts may include holidays. Must be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, often independently. Able to lift 25-50 lbs without any limitations. Must have experience driving a Zamboni and working with facility equipment. US ICE RINK CERTIFICATION HELPFUL. The base pay range for this position is an hourly rate $20 - $30 per hour.
