The Director of Energy Structuring will have expertise in the wholesale and retail energy markets. This role provides senior analytical and educational leadership to internal and external clients relating to natural gas and electric commodity markets, regulatory impacts, various retail energy purchasing structures, product pricing models, and various flexible load monetization approaches for both conventional and renewable energy. This role will also assist in designing and negotiating energy products and contracts with suppliers and clients.

What you'll be doing

- Support Energy Advisors and the entire 5 team in delivering best in class analysis and advice to our clients
- Participate/lead technical and analytical presentations to clients
- Mentor and educate internally regarding changing energy market conditions
- Analyze and report upon emerging technologies in the electricity and natural gas industries
- Prepare internal and external reporting
- Assist in creating client proposals
- Understand and evaluate supplier offerings in a timely fashion for delivery to clients
- Read and negotiate supplier agreements
- Manage and deliver ongoing client commitments
- Effectively manage relationships between Advisors, clients, suppliers, and utilities across the US and Mexico

What you'll bring:

- Minimum of 7 years in the wholesale and retail energy industry. Trading experience is a plus.
- High level of comfort delivering complex concepts to internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes
- Must be self-directed
- Extremely knowledgeable with MS Office toolset with specific emphasis on MS Excel
- Knowledge of programming language (e.g. SQL, VBA, Python, PHP, SAS/R) a plus
- Strong communicator, both in writing and in presentation skills
- Comfortable conducting effective and potentially complex analyses with a high attention to detail
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in an appropriate field
