Besant Hill School is looking for an Accounting Clerk to support the Director of Finance and Operations. In this role, the following skills and capabilities are needed:

Job Duties:
-Support all A/R and A/P functions for the school
-Maintain sub ledger databases to support monthly billing to parents
-Journal Entry support
-Monthly Bank Reconciliation
-Credit Card Reporting, distribution, collection and allocation of expenses
-Bi-monthly payroll processing and data entry within the Paychex database
-New employee paperwork, live scan and onboarding
-Maintain School’s Employee Manual using established manual and automated updates and distribution support using PBS America’s online support tool.
-Monthly expense reporting and tracking according to established budget
-Maintain the Asset and Depreciation schedule using Asset Manager Software
-Support annual audit/review
-Support Worker’s Compensation audit
-Maintain petty cash and sundry distribution according to established process
-Maintain the policy and procedure manual for the Business Office
-Process enrollment contracts and support tuition insurance process
-Complete various analysis and accounting projects as assigned by the CEO and or DFO
-Release the P&L and Balance Sheet on a monthly basis

Skills:
-Basic accounting skills
-Familiar with Sage/MIP Fund accounting software
-Good working knowledge of Not for Profit FASB accounting practices and principals
-Proficient with word and excel
-Professional verbal and written communication skills
-Business Acumen
-Clean driving record
-Ability to pass a DOJ background check

Full time position is eligible for insurance benefits, participation in retirement plan, paid holiday’s, accrued vacation, and sick time. This position will support all facets of the school operation.

Office Hours: 8am to 4:30 pm Monday – Friday with 30-minute lunch. There will be approximately 5 Saturdays per year this person will be required to work.
