As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Part-Time Legal Billing Specialist to join our team and play a key role in managing billing processes and ensuring smooth communication between attorneys, clients, and staff.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Part-Time (25-30 hours per week) Legal Billing Specialist to handle various aspects of our billing processes, including generating invoices, reviewing and editing bills to ensure they align with client billing guidelines, submitting legal bills via e-billing platforms, and managing accounts receivable. This role requires someone with exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys and clients to resolve billing-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and review legal invoices for accuracy, ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines.
• Submit invoices through electronic billing platforms (e-billing).
• Coordinate with attorneys, clients, and staff to address and resolve billing-related inquiries or discrepancies.
• Manage collections and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment and follow-up on outstanding invoices.
• Ensure that retainer agreements and billing rules are accurately applied to invoices.
• Maintain accurate billing records and assist with generating billing reports as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth billing processes and timely invoicing.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years hands on legal billing experience.
• Electronic billing experience is preferred.
• Experience with Legal Management Systems (LMS) or other legal billing software is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and attorneys.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Accuracy is crucial to avoid errors in billing calculations and minimize client disputes.
• Analytical skills to interpret retainer agreements and apply appropriate billing rules.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Hourly rate: $25/hour
• Hours: 25-30 hours per week (M-F, 5-6 hours per day)
• Fully onsite
