Lusardi Construction is seeking an experienced Automotive Gas and Diesel Mechanic to maintain and service our diverse fleet of vehicles and medium-duty construction equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Expertise in repairing and diagnosing gas and diesel engines, 12-volt electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and drum and disc brake systems is essential. Duties/Responsibilities:

Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain, and upgrade
Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.) aiming at vehicle functionality and longevity
The ability to identify, repair, or replace broken or dysfunctional parts as required
Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
Keep records of services performed and record parts consumed
Order parts as required
Maintain vehicles and tools in good condition
Determine required maintenance on vehicles and perform as required
Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards to maintain a safe work environment

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles
Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods (e.g., Scan Tool / Mitchel etc.)
Ability to handle various tools (e.g., pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g., lift)
Excellent physical condition
Valid CA driver’s license and good driving record
Full set of automotive tools required

Education and Experience:

Minimum of 4 years of experience as auto and diesel Mechanic
High school diploma preferred. Certification in automotive repair (ASE) is a plus

The pay range for this position of employment is expected to be between $33.00/hour and $40.00/hour. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
