Established commercial demolition and abatement contractor in San Diego, CA is searching for an intelligent qualified applicant to fulfill a full-time entry-level position of Junior Estimator/ Project Engineer.
Job Description:
JE/PE is an entry level position in our estimating department. You will be working closely with our estimators and project managers to develop accurate and competitive project bids and proposals. You will be working with and learning from an estimating team with decades of experience and knowledge.
Daily Activities include but are not limited to:
• Importing plans to our software and do take-offs.
• Generating quantities from plans (any background or training with architectural, civil plans is a plus)
• Typing and submitting project proposals.
• Assist to Job Walks.
• Misc. office work per the department manager
• Processing Change Orders (T&M’s)
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
• High School Diploma (College Degree Preferred)
• Proficient in math - Must be able to evaluate large quantities of materials and allocate associated labor and material costs. Evaluate change orders and pricing.
• Computer Proficient - Knowledgeable and proficient with Microsoft Excel (experience required), Adobe, online research, and Microsoft Office programs
• Must be able to work independently, manage time, and meet assigned deadlines effectively.
• Must maintain a high level of attention to detail and be organized.
• Ability to effectively communicate with in-house personnel and clients.
• Must be self-motivated and have a hard working attitude.
