Our family is looking for (2) Caregivers, (1) full time and (1) part time. We are offering ONE OF THE TWO POSITIONS TO BE A FULL TIME RESIDENT a beautiful single-family home in a senior community in North Las Vegas. Your housemate and Patient (Care Recipient) is a mentally challenged 70-year-old male who is incapacitated and living alone in the front living area of this 2 bedroom, 2 bath single family home.

The resident employee (or couple) will have full access to all the amenities of the home (1446 sq. ft), including residing in the master bedroom suite with a large 2-person bathroom and 8 x 10’ walk in closet. Full access to the 2-car garage and beautifully landscaped back yard and barbecue area. Also, full access to all the community amenities including: a huge pool & spa, clubhouse with daily social activates, large fitness room, game rooms, pool tables, tennis & pickleball courts, etc.

In exchange for free rent the Resident/Housemate will be responsible for managing the everyday household affairs, including grocery shopping and/or online grocery deliveries. Also, you will be regularly available onsite for any occasional emergencies that may occur during the off-hours between 10:00PM to 6:00/AM throughout the week (with some exceptions).

THE CARE RECIPIANT (PATIENT): is a mentally challenged 70-year-old male who suffers from a rapid cycling bipolar condition and is incapacitated (bedridden) and cannot walk. The patient is diabetic and has in-home nursing care treating bed sores and a leg wounds. Although he is incapacitated mentally and physically, he is still very mentally active and spends a lot of time on social media and sometimes falls victim to predatory scams. He has bipolar highs and lows and the mental temperament of a young child. His 80-year-old wife of 35 years recently separated because he became too difficult to manage at her age. Currently, the patient is living in the home with caregivers from an agency.

CAREGIVER JOB OVERVIEW: We are seeking (2) compassionate individuals for morning and evening shifts 4-5 days a week for In-Home Caregiving. You will provide essential assistance and support to help maintain client’s independence and quality of life within the comfort of his own home.

DUTIES:
• Assist client with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting (diapers)
• Supervising & encouragement
• Companionship and emotional support
• Able to operate and maneuver an electric Hoyer Lift & rigging for transferring
• Assist & accompany client on RTC & medical bus rides for errands, doctor visits personal outings and socialization activities
• Assisting with wheelchair
• Nutritious meal-planning, preparation, serving and clean up
• Ensure client takes his medication on time
• Perform light housekeeping & laundry
• Follow his specific care plan
• Monitor and report any changes in his condition

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in caregiving
• Knowledge of home health practices and procedures
• An understanding of working with a Bipolar person
• Ability to manage behaviors effectively and promote a positive environment

EMPLOYMENT BASIS: Single family direct-hired employee with standard payroll deductions and benefits including vacation/PTO, holiday pay & workers comp through a payroll processing company.

CLIENT (RESPONSIBLE PARTY): The Patient’s sister and brother-in-law are court-appointed legal guardians for the patient and responsible for managing all his personal and financial affairs.
