ABOUT THE ROLE

Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a motivated UX Researcher to join our team. We are a fast-growing entrepreneurial team working at the convergence of technology and national security.

As a UX Researcher, you will play a critical role in understanding the needs and behaviors of our users. Your research will inform the design of our developer tools, ensuring that they meet the real-world challenges faced by development teams. You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to translate user insights into actionable recommendations.

Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.

What you'll do:

Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs, motivations, and pain points related to our developer tools.
Plan and execute user interviews, surveys, usability tests, and other research methods to gather insights.
Analyze research findings and synthesize data into clear, actionable recommendations for the design and product teams.
Create user personas and journey maps to communicate user insights effectively across the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure user research is integrated into the product development process.
Stay informed about industry trends and user experience best practices to continually improve research methodologies.
Present research findings and design recommendations to stakeholders, fostering a user-centered culture within the organization.

Skills You’ll Bring to Our Team

At least three years of experience in user research or related fields, with a focus on B2B or technical products
Proven experience as a UX Researcher, preferably within SaaS or developer tools environments
Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and their application
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights
Familiarity with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or similar (a plus)
Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting findings clearly to diverse audiences
Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with product management, design, and engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience conducting user interviews, surveys, usability tests, and other research methods
Ability to create user personas and journey maps to communicate user insights effectively
Familiarity with industry trends and user experience best practices
Have a strong interest in matters of national security
