Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager is responsible for oversight of the monthly financial close process for the Inpatient Rehabilitation division. They are responsible for managing accounting staff, internal control objectives and routine accounting transactions to achieve high quality financial reporting for the division.

Produces accurate and timely financials for facilities within the division through detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis and monitoring of balance sheet reconciliations.
Manages internal and external audits and completes requests timely and accurately.
Maintains internal controls in the department.
Supports operational finance and hospital management with timely and accurate information.
Promotes best practices and continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the department.
Ensures direct reports have received and continue to receive the necessary training and support necessary to accomplish departmental objectives.
Ensures stability throughout the department through building employee engagement, effective talent assessment and succession planning.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience required
Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principles required
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and the Microsoft Office suite required
Experience with large scale financials systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP) required

Preferred Qualifications

CPA and/or related advanced degree preferred
Healthcare industry accounting experience preferred
