Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated Onsite Data Center Operation Specialist specializing in Corporate Data Center Spaces to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Onsite DCOS will be to provide hands-on technical support and assistance for routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment installations within the data center infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, experience working in data centers, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Job Duties - Corporate Data Center Spaces:
• Equipment installation, grounding, labeling, and removal/migration work
• Cable installation, cable mining, and cable identifying, labeling and testing
• Respond to and manage service request tickets through ServiceNow
• Skilled experience with Packaged HVAC units
• Skilled and knowledgeable in AC powered equipment
• Skilled and knowledgeable in test, trace, and extend circuits
• Experience with testing standards (copper and fiber)
• Experienced with Building Management Systems, and maintaining and configuring management systems with standard protocols

Essential Job Duties - Building Envelope
• Maintain and repair the mechanical, electrical, security and that protect and support business critical information systems. (HVAC, UPS, PDU systems)
• Identify and be able to immediately recognize system faults and respond to operational and emergency situations
• Maintain strict compliance with all Federal, State and Local codes, regulations and standards
• Perform preventative tests and analyze data to ensure the proper functioning of all base building and critical system equipment, including electrical, HVAC, fire/life safety, security and emergency back-up systems. Determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required
• Monitor the operations and make customer approved adjustments of chilled water systems, heat exchangers, CRAC Units, HVAC, electrical systems, emergency back-up systems, pumps, valves, filters and other mechanical and electrical equipment
• Record readings and make recommendations for adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment
• Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and reports to accurately document the condition of systems in the data center
• Maintain knowledge about preventive maintenance and work order software systems
• Coordinate contractor and management approvals for work orders that require the use of outside contractors. Maintain detailed logs of all work performed
• Read, comprehend and work from complex technical information (i.e. blueprints, sketches, building plans and schematics) pertaining to electrical and mechanical systems that serve the data centers. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and formal change control processes to implement changes
• Interact with all parts of the organization to respond to a variety of service requests. Perform any and all work, to ensure the safety of the building's tenants and the continuous operation of the facility
• Maintain organized building files
• May perform other duties as assigned
• May be on-call after regular scheduled hours

Qualifications:
• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant data center experience required
• 4+ years of experience working in data center environments, preferably in a hands-on technical support role
• Familiarity with data center operations, best practices, and industry standards, such as ANSI/TIA-942 and Uptime Institute Tier Classification
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality service and support
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed for scheduled maintenance or emergency response

Salary Range

$68,640 - $95,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
