ABOUT WHITTIER WOOD PRODUCTS

Whittier is a family owned business that has been manufacturing quality real wood furniture for more than forty years. Our business has evolved but our commitment to our customers and our dedication to create quality furniture has not changed. Whittier owns and operates two facilities. Our company headquarters, production and distribution center are located in Eugene. Our second production facility is located in Vietnam. Every operation is conducted in-house, giving us complete control over all phases of manufacturing and quality.

Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a similar role
High school diploma or equivalent qualification required
Engineering like mindset, enjoy tinkering with equipment, enjoy creative thinking
Extremely organized with good communication skills
Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving
Must be in good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally, stand and work for long periods of time, climb ladders, work at high elevations, and in small, confined spaces
Wear all safety equipment and obey all safety rules, including the use of fall protection equipment
Experience with safety programs and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Ability to prioritize, organize and make necessary decisions
Ability to work with hand tools and power equipment
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Carpentry skills preferred
Knowledge of fire suppression systems and repairs
Prior experience with plumbing and electrical systems
Willing to learn software and help program Panel Saw and CNC Drill
Microsoft Suite Proficient preferred
Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs
Ability to work as a team as well as individually
Willing to train qualified applicants
Responsibilities

Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on company machinery, equipment or appliances when necessary
Preform repairs and assist with preventative maintenance on all equipment in Paint Room
Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs to direct supervisor
Fabricate and weld components as needed
Operates forklifts, boom lifts, and Scissor Lifts as needed
Preforms preventative maintenance on forklifts
Troubleshoots and repairs minor air compressor failures. Performs preventive maintenance function on all pneumatic systems.
Managing preventive maintenance of the whole facility
Performs other/additional duties and projects that may be periodically assigned
