The role you’ll contribute:
Manages a group of security guards who ensure the protection of the organization's facilities, patients, visitors, and staff. Responsible for clinical identification, safety evaluation and coordination of corrective action implementation related to safety issues. Ensures compliance with governmental regulatory agencies and TJC Environment of Care Standards. Complete AutoCAD drawings per code.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
· Manages the daily operations of the security department. Develops and enforces security procedures and regulations
· Acts as a liaison to all departments on security measures, procedures, and needs. Monitors and follows up on complaints and investigations
· Assigns responsibilities and tasks to support department function
· Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and policies/procedures
· May be required to oversight PBX/ communications
· May be required to have oversight of emergency management plans
· Perform overall safety related responsibilities
· Maintain the overall facility and create a healing environment
· Oversees the hospital-wide hazard surveillance program to identify and anticipate potential hazards or areas of noncompliance within the hospital
· Helps the Safety Director prepare a quarterly summery of related issues to the Board or its committees as requested. Complete tasks as requested in a neat and appropriate fashion and in a professional manner • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:
· Ability to communicate and present effectively in both written and oral forms internally and externally
· Ability to motivate co-workers to function effectively as a team in a challenging environment
· Ability to assess risk and follow a proactive approach
· Overall conceptual knowledge of NFPA
· Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
· Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Overall safety knowledge
· AutoCAD proficiency
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· High School Grad or Equivalent and 5 years experience
· 2 years Leadership Experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor's degree in a related field or combination of High School degree and related experience
· Five years of technical experience
· One-year of safety or safety related experience
· Two year of leadership/management experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Seven years of technical experience
· Three years of leadership/management experience
· National Emergency Preparedness, National Incident Management System (NIMS)
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
• IAHSS Advanced
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION:
• Holds and maintains a valid State Department of Business and Professional Regulation Class D Security License
• Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) Certification
• Certified Crisis Prevention Intervention Instructor
• Certified International Safety and Security
• AutoCAD certification

• Manages security guards
