Mercy Health Maumee Bay General Surgery is seeking a skilled and compassionate General Surgeon to join our esteemed team in Toledo, OH. Our practice is deeply rooted in the community, providing comprehensive surgical care for over 40 years. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in robotics, trauma care, wound management, endoscopy, and have a strong desire to contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare to our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of general surgical procedures including robotics-assisted surgeries, trauma care, wound care, and endoscopy procedures.
- Provide care for trauma patients as our hospital is a level 3 trauma center, with a focus on delivering timely and comprehensive treatment.
- Conduct endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal conditions.
- Participate in call coverage with a minimum of 7 days per month, with the opportunity for additional coverage if desired.
- Collaborate with Dr. Manish Thusay and Dr. Tim Husted in call coverage and participate in Maumee Bay Surgical Existing Practice Panel.
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented practice environment, providing care to both inpatients and outpatients.
- Demonstrate proficiency in placing lines, ports, and other access devices as needed.
- Perform common general surgical procedures such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and endoscopy/colonoscopy with precision and expertise.
Special Skills
- Robotics training and proficiency in robotics-assisted surgeries.
- Trauma care expertise, with the ability to manage trauma patients effectively.
- Proficiency in performing endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures.
- Advanced wound care skills, including the management of complex wounds.
- Ability to place lines, ports, and other access devices as necessary.
