We are seeking teachers with recent middle or high school math classroom teaching experience in Southern California to join our team at both of our locations. Our program is growing and we have multiple positions open (see specific subject/skill areas below).
This is a highly professional and pedagogically rich environment where you would work closely with the CEO and a team of 2-5 other experienced teachers to serve students in 4th-12th grades in a dynamic small-group after-school setting.
If you are transitioning out of the classroom but want to stay in education professionally, or if you are a full-time teacher looking for supplemental evening hours, this could be a good fit for you.
"Dealbreaker" qualifications (we will not consider your application unless you have...):
• classroom teaching experience in the last five years in middle or high school in Southern California
• reliable availability - this is an employee position in-person at our center, with steady hours during the school year
• ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• small group classroom management skills
• high positive energy like a coach or camp counselor
• completion of the cover letter (see below)
Specifically, we are seeking expertise in the following areas:
In Culver City:**must be available for early afternoon hours approx 2-5pm Monday-Thursday
• math (middle school through Alg II, bonus if you are comfortable with pre-calc, AP calc or AP stats)
• ALSO if it happens to be in your skill set we are looking for science through AP level especially biology and chemistry (bonus if you are comfortable with physics)
In Manhattan Beach:** must be available three days a week 4-8pm
• math (middle school through Alg II)
