Hello and happy new year! 2025 it’s on. Looking for a Cal Poly marketing student/barista.
I am a small business owner of 3 businesses looking for a very unique person to help me grow and improve through marketing and image. Born and raised in SLO we are here to stay and want our dynamic businesses to thrive in this great community.
The businesses all range within food, hospitality, service, retail and accommodations. But let’s just start with 1 biz Kitchen & Vine. The job is 2 parts. First is weekend cafe/restaurant barista position actively working the restaurant by making drinks and taking orders and filling in. This will give you full experience to help in part 2 which is direct marketing for the business. This fills a need for us on the weekends and gives you full understanding of how best to market the biz.
On the marketing side, the position is unique in that you will work and strategize directly with myself and my wife. You will be let into the entire business operation to fully understand the revenue streams, customer interaction and cost behind each decision. The goal will be to put revenue growing ideas out and see how they return. It will be very measured and thought out.
The position is hourly paid + commission opportunities. Must be planning to be in SLO another 2 years. Sophomore/junior most likely.
The biggest win with this opportunity is business understanding and practice. You will come to understand real business practices and concepts. See the cost, revenue and work in-between. I graduated from Cal Poly business on 2011 and would have really thrived from a hands on experience opportunity like this. Learn by doing really is the best way.
Need social media experience, document creation like Canva or adobe, video editing, etc. All the typical marketing tools.
Reply via email with what makes you a good candidate, any previous work/project experience you have, school status, and a few ideas within the business categories I listed above. Thank you!!
