Job DescriptionYour RoleThe CalPERS Account Management team provides strategic oversight, consultative support, and superior service to CalPERS and the employer groups (State of California, Public Agencies, and School Districts) participating in their health benefits program. The Account Services Representative, Senior will report to the Manager, CalPERS Account Management. In this role you will be collaborate with cross-functional teams and business partners in support of our CalPERS agreements. You will be responsible for maintaining robust external stakeholder relationships, while establishing effective working relationships with internal functional groups.
ResponsibilitiesYour WorkIn this role, you will:
- Tailor value proposition during open enrollment / client meetings based on their specific value drivers using solid understanding of BSC products
- Use thorough understanding of upcoming developments in the healthcare market (healthcare reform, state and local healthcare legislation, new entrants, customer need shifts); understand how they may impact competitors' benefit offering and member eligibility
- Facilitate open enrollment / admin / health fair meetings; anticipate client and member questions and can provide in-depth responses
- Leverage available BSC information (i.e. wellness flyers, other marketing materials) for meetings
- Appropriately leverage available resources to complete back-office tasks and solve problems
- Support day-to-day client and internal stakeholder activities
- Manage client concerns and issues, and serve as liaison between Blue Shield and the client to ensures resolution of claims and service problems
- Support the CalPERS Account Management team, conduct administrative meetings with external customers, documenting meeting discussion and outcomes and tracking next steps
- Develop special handling procedures for CalPERS members with unique service requirements
- Trains client on specific billing, claims and service processes and procedures
QualificationsYour Knowledge and Experience- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 4 years related experience
- Ability to work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage work and trade-offs against critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including an ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
- Account and project management skills preferred
- Life Agent License with California Department of Insurance preferred
- Valid California driver's license, and proof of insurance preferred
Pay Range:The pay range for this role is: $ 77990.00 to $ 116930.00 for California.
Note:Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
