JOB DESCRIPTION
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7am – 3:30pm. Occasional overtime.
Melco Steel is seeking experienced metal and machine fabricator/welder/fitter to join our team in the manufacturing of custom pressure vessel process equipment for use in a wide array of industries.
Desired Candidate will work as a team member, maintain regular attendance and be available for overtime as needed, be detail oriented and able to multi-task and handle disruptions, have good basic mechanical skills with hand and power tools, perform SMAW, MIG and TIG weld processes, must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE and, lift up to 30 pounds with assistance if needed.
WAGES & BENEFITS
• Rate $26 - $30 / Hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Fabricate steel pressure tank/vessel assemblies and machine structures from drawings to ASME specifications
• Fabricate metal parts to specifications of drawings
• Fabricate, install and repair equipment and product machine components
• Understand requirements for welding safety, hot-work hazards, PPE and general work-area organization and cleanliness
• Ability to fluently communicate in written and spoken English preferred but not required
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must pass skills and qualifications tests
• Experience and competence in stick/rod welding (SMAW) – specifically 7018
• TIG and MIG experience required
• Ability to read, interpret and work off blueprints, drawings, sketches and verbal instructions
• Competency with math for layouts and assembling jigs required
• Ability to work in fast-paced shop environment
• Physical ability to grasp, push, pull, twist, stoop, bend, climb, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel, but not for extended periods of time
• Familiarity and competency with fabrication tools in operations (such as flame torch cutting, plasma arc cutting, carbon arc gouging, drilling, saw cutting, manual power grinding and cutting)
