HR Manager

What You'll Do:
• Be a recruiting wiz – Post jobs, screen candidates, and onboard new hires.
• Pay attention to the details – Handle bi-weekly payroll with precision.
• Know the ins and outs of benefits – Administer plans and assist with leave requests.
• Support your team with care – Address employee relations with tact and fairness.
• Stay ahead of the law – California labor laws are your specialty.
• Guide supervisors on documenting employee performance - through the evaluation process and ongoing management including discipline up to and including termination.
• Master the tools of the trade – Keep records accurate in the HRIS and demonstrate strong skills in Word and Excel.
What We're Looking For:
• An HR Generalist Pro – 4+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in Human Resources, navigating the employee life cycle.
• A California Compliance Guru – You know wage and hour like the back of your hand.
• A Problem-Solver – Recognize when to act and when to ask for help.
• An Office Enthusiast – This role is onsite, Monday through Friday
• A Smooth Collaborator – You can work effectively with all personalities.
• A Lifelong Learner – A bachelor’s degree and PHR/SPHR certification are a bonus, not a must. Additional professional experience can substitute for this as well.
• Non-Profit or School Savvy Preferred – Familiarity with the cadence of non-profits and licensing requirements for childcare programs, or the eagerness to become an expert

Compensation: $75,000 – 82,000
