What the role entailsThe duties and responsibilities of the Network Analyst (Infrastructure) are performed under the supervision of the Network Administration Supervisor. Working within the network infrastructure and security team, this position supplies technical ability related to corporate networks and infrastructure. Strong technical and problem-solving skills are essential.
ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Network hardware installation and configuration (switches, access points, etc.)
- Firmware patching/upgrading on network equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to the corporate network
- Monitor and optimize network performance
- Improve network segmentation for security and performance
- Improve network redundancy and resiliency
- Collaborate with other IT staff to support clients
- Work with vendors for support
- Developing documentation on technical processes
QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess:
- Computer Science degree or diploma from a recognized college or university or the equivalent education and experience to the satisfaction of the Deputy CAO / Treasurer.
- Three (3) years of related experience as an Information Technology network professional.
- Experience in enterprise environments is preferred.
- Professional certifications would be an asset (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA).
- Demonstrated troubleshooting ability is essential.
- Ability to conduct independent research to solve problems and implement innovative solutions.
- Ability to apply knowledge and experience to determine priorities, coordinate work and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of OSI model and client-server model.
- Technical knowledge in the following areas: IP networks; VLANs; network switch configuration via CLI; Cisco, Juniper, and HP switches; Juniper Mist access points; Microsoft networks; Microsoft Operating Systems; Active Directory; Microsoft Office 365.
- Knowledge in the following areas would be an asset: VMware ESXi and vSphere; Netapp storage; enterprise firewalls; Microsoft 365 and Azure/Entra cloud technologies.
- Other experience that would be an asset: DHCP; DNS; scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell); project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
- Ability to work legally in Canada.
What we offer you- Salary: $76,795 to $88,209 (Code 12 of the 2024 Inside Collective Agreement)
- Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional after-hours maintenance will be required (with applicable overtime pay or time-in-lieu).

Additional information and requirementsPre-employment testing for this position may include written and oral testing, to assist in determining the successful applicant. A passing score will be 60% on each test with the highest score considered in the award.

Criminal Records Checks from third party agencies are not acceptable.
