Position Overview: We are seeking a professional and experienced Landscape Maintenance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture, with specific knowledge of native plants on the Monterey Peninsula. This person will be responsible for maintaining high-quality landscapes, providing excellent customer service, and respecting clients' privacy. The candidate must be able to work well with various personalities, manage irrigation systems, and communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Manage, train, and supervise landscape maintenance crews, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Effectively address and resolve conflicts among team members to maintain productivity.
Client Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their expectations are met with discretion and professionalism.
Maintain sensitivity to client privacy and customize services to their preferences.
Horticulture Expertise:
Oversee the care and maintenance of residential/commercial gardens, living roofs, and restoration projects, with emphasis on native plants of the Monterey Peninsula.
Diagnose and address plant health issues, implementing sustainable and effective solutions.
Operational Management:
Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure timely and thorough care of all projects.
Manage budgets, supplies, and equipment, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Technology Integration:
Utilize landscape management software and other digital tools to streamline scheduling, reporting, and crew coordination.
Provide regular progress reports and updates to clients and the management team.
Irrigation Management:
Oversee the maintenance and operation of irrigation systems to ensure efficient water use and plant health.
Qualifications:
Certification in horticulture, landscape management, or a related field.
Extensive experience in landscape maintenance, with a focus on native plants, ecological restoration, and living roofs.
Knowledge of local plant species and ecosystems, particularly on the Monterey Peninsula.
Experience with irrigation systems and water conservation techniques.
Proficient in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on client satisfaction.
Familiarity with landscape management software and other relevant technology.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
