We are a small flower studio in Playa Vista, committed to delivering top-notch floral arrangements and exceptional customer service. We are currently seeking a dedicated, passionate and proactive Florist Assistant to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Open and close the shop as required.
* Process and cut flowers with precision.
* Perform general shop cleaning and organizing, including sweeping, cleaning buckets, coolers, and windows daily.
* Answer phone inquiries and take orders over the phone.
* Process online orders and prepare orders for delivery.
* Assist with general administrative duties.
Requirements:
* Proximity to Playa Vista/Culver City or reliable transportation to the area.
* No allergies to cats or flowers. We have a shop cat!
* Knowledge of computers and data entry, with a typing speed of at least 50 WPM.
* Floral background preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
* Strong multitasking abilities, eagerness to work, and a fast learner with excellent customer service skills.
* Ability to handle downtime effectively by finding useful tasks to complete.
* Focused and organized with a strong commitment to completing important tasks by the end of each day.
WHILE WE ARE FLEXIBLE WITH SCHEDULE AND TIME OFF, FLORAL HOLIDAYS ARE NON NEGOTIABLE! VALENTINE'S DAY, MOTHER'S DAY, CHRISTMAS AND THE WEEK BEFORE ARE ALL HANDS ON DECK.
Important Note: This role is not just about arranging flowers. You are the assistant to the Head Florist and this job involves a range of tasks including, but not limited to, maintaining a checklist of daily duties and completing efficiently day to day. We are looking for someone who is focused, organized, and ready to handle the responsibilities of the job beyond just floral work. This role is best suited for someone who thrives independently in a changing environment and is not looking for a leisurely role.
