What to expect:The Program Manager for UTIP in the broadest sense is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of the project for all key stakeholders (CWB Group / Boiler Makers) while ensuring deliverables are on time, on budget and within scope of the Government contract. An essential part of the role is to assemble and lead the project team requiring excellent communication, people, and leadership skills with all stakeholders and cross functional groups. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, setting deadlines, provide necessary resources, and meet regularly with all stakeholders and support personnel. An ability to speak openly, honestly, and frequently with all stakeholders is critical to the success of the overall project.
This includes:
Program Planning and Management- Coordinate internal resources and third parties /vendors if required for the flawless execution of the project
- Ensure that phases of the program are delivered on-time, within scope and within allocated budgets
- Assist in the definition of project scope and program objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical content and practical testing is properly executed
- Ensure resource availability and allocation utilized properly to deliver the program in multiple locations
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress and milestones on each development and execution stage through to customer feedback and improvement opportunities
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate documents
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and standard project management techniques
- Perform associated risk management to minimize project complications and delays of delivery
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation in chronological order and meet specifications
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop promotional content to build continuous adoption of students
- Conduct research for stakeholder needs and best practices to enhanced design, team participation and provide status updates
- As required provide weekly, monthly, quarterly stakeholder and Government progress reports as well as future action plans
Relationship Management- Manage relationships with the client and all key project stakeholders (CWB Group / Boiler Makers)
- Build and establish a broad communications plan with all key stakeholders to ensure ongoing support, feedback, knowledge, and outcomes are shared throughout the life cycle of the project
- Attend internal / external meetings and conferences and liaise with regulatory authorities when required
- Arrange and lead monthly and quarterly meetings with all internal/ external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a database of union locals and contacts for each professional path by province / jurisdiction and develop affiliations with the organizations
- Engage external and internal stakeholders throughout the design and execution process, including program structure, continuous improvement, and progress review
- If necessary, interview, select and hire any required employees and or partners during the project execution
- Respond to inquiries about the program with key Government stakeholders.
- Communicate program statistics and successes with internal/ external stakeholders for key messaging on press releases and communication plans
- Conduct regular performance feedback and evaluation sessions with customers to improve delivery model
- Monitor individual and team progress towards goals, objective and business plans and communicates ongoing progress, check for variances, and takes corrective actions, as necessary
- Recognize milestone achievements, celebrate, and share achievements with team and stakeholders
Measurement of Project Performance- Manage the financial budget to ensure all costs are monitored throughout the project and any deviations recorded and plans to rectify established in a timely fashion
- Ensure that projects are completed on time and exceed established milestones and final phases in program launches, which is critical to the success of the project lifespan
- Identify how much time stakeholders and support staff are spending on a project to ensure that resource utilization is as efficient as possible.
- Obtain student evaluations of the program (Customer Experience) assess quality to enhance and adjust the program will be important throughout our program delivery
- Calculate the return on investment for project stakeholders and company executives
- Measure the impact of the project with agreed upon outcomes from the stakeholders for the Program
Other duties as assigned:In this position, you will report to the Director, Government Relations and Public Safety. You will work from your home office in Canada providing remote services with some travel required from time to time. What you bring to the table:- University Degree in Social Sciences, Business Admin and /or related field of study
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or equivalent
- 5-7 years career counseling / planning, job matching, skills assessments.
- Progressive experience in senior professional Project management roles responsible for a service delivery
- Leadership experience with designing, executing, and managing programs to support specific segments or groups to support employment readiness
- Developing strategic plans and managing multiple operational programs
- Launching new programs, efficient operational processes, tools and frameworks
- Demonstrate excellence in project management; planning, organizing staff
- Work with not-for-profit organizations helping people succeed
- Working knowledge of the Welding sector labor market including required education skills, and credentials
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Computer proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the internet
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS- This is a remote, work from home position
- Travel might be required from time to time
