Well established demolition/abatement contractor providing demolition, tank removal, abatement, land clearing, etc. in California. We are in search of a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, overseeing the estimation process for various construction projects. This position requires a background in construction management with a focus on accurate cost estimation and effective negotiation skills. Under the supervision of the General Manager, the estimator/project manager will create estimates that align with project goals and budgets.
Duties:
Review solicitations, analyze blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work.
Prepare estimates, calculate the cost of materials, subcontract work, labor and prepare accurate estimates.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to get the best prices on materials.
Create proposals including scope of work and submit competitive bids for projects.
Review scope of work, order materials, schedule manpower to ensure on time delivery of projects and project close out.
Oversee field labor forces on assigned projects.
Attend field meetings as required to communicate with the project team and supervisor project progress.
Manage and resolve any issues that arise during the project.
Maintain project documentation and records.
Develop relationships with customers, subcontractors and vendors.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Strong analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills
Detail-oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in programs including Word, Excel and Outlook.
