Position Summary:
This role Manages a team of business performance analysts that use business data and statistical methods to evaluate, provide insight into business performance and suggest areas and methods of improving operations. Implements and oversees the analytical approaches and methodologies. Presents business insights and recommendations to management for decision making and planning. Collaborates with data warehouse and business intelligence teams to prototype and create code and other production analytics artifacts. Identifies, researches and presents recommendations on complex healthcare analytical topics.
They develop relationships with business sponsors and stakeholders, understand the business drivers for analytics and information and lead cross-functional teams to successfully deliver solutions to meet business needs.
Their work will support business decisions, and could span across multiple areas such as consumer experience, clinical quality, hospital operations, supply chain, finance, regulatory, vendor contract fulfillment, etc.

Job Duties
Manages the Business Performance Analytics Team. Prioritizes analytical requests across the enterprise and clearly communicates project prioritization and delivery dates to leadership. Validates analytical approaches and models utilized by team members. progress of the metrics and report results to leadership. Tracks portfolio management and reports to leadership. Works closely with the Data operation and BI teams to ensure compliance in dashboard and data workflow building.
Responsible for incorporating data governance practices into the analytic workflow. Ensures data governance processes are followed by the analytic team, and the leader and team actively collaborate in the data catalogue. Active member in the Data Governance Operations team sharing knowledge and best practice for analytics. Acts as mentor to other analytical areas within the Texas Health. documenting and validation of business case assumptions, collaborating with initiative leaders to develop process and outcome metrics, developing process to measure.
Research and stay abreast of business intelligence, analytics, data governance technology developments. Recommend new opportunities as aligned with THR's strategic plan. Coordinates training and skills growth for analyst in their department. Responsible for talent development and succession planning within the department.
Responsible for creating, leading, developing and retaining a highly effective and engaged team. Develops in yearly and quarterly goals in partnership with their leader. Accountable for the team's performance, establish and track measurable goals aligned with the organizational and department plans.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field required
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field preferred
Experience
8 years relevant work experience in a business analyst role and 3 years progressive leadership is required
Skills
Ability to effectively and concisely communicate with all levels of the organization, including leadership, regarding complex financial models, business cases and metric measurements.
Ability to develop, validate and monitor large multi-year business cases that incorporate multiple variables and assumptions
Ability to make quality, independent decisions, work effectively and efficiently within an ambiguous environment; ability to meet frequent and changing deadlines.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected to reach agreed upon business and strategic objectives thus flexibility, innovation and creativity are necessary characteristics of the successful candidate.
Experience in leading enterprise-level business analytic teams, technology and projects, including managerial activities such as reviewing analyses and reports, code review, etc.
Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, Alteryx or equivalent visualization data manipulation software
Experience in deploying statistical, operations research, econometric, or other analytical methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to work and execute independently as well as across organizational boundaries.
Ability to mentor staff in respective teams and across organizational structures.
