Who We Seek
Hispanic Federation is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator to support in resource dissemination and community outreach across Hispanic Federation’s programs. With a national focus, the Community Outreach and Hotline Coordinator will learn about programs where HF works and engage with individuals in need to provide safe and accessible resources. All coordinators will receive onsite training and will become familiar with the resources being presented to communities. All outreach and hotline coordinators will be based out of HF’s Orlando Office and will connect with individuals in need of services and information.
The successful candidate will understand issues affecting the Latino community nationally and have a desire have an impact within social justice and equity. Calls received by HF are in both English and Spanish and ability to speak Spanish is required for this role, additional languages may be helpful and are welcomed.
This position is hybrid and will require regular onsite presence in HF’s Orlando Office.

Reports to: Director for Strategic and Community Engagement
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage communications through HF’s phone and text management platforms, Telzio and Hustle respectively; communicate with community members around a diverse range of immigration, voter registration and healthcare enrollment, among others.
- Oversee a series of tickets and ensure that community members requesting support are treated with respect and high levels of cultural competency, provide resources and referrals as requested.
- Support in resource development and referrals under the direction of the Director for Strategic and Community Engagement and in partnership with program staff members and other team members.
- Test phone systems and provide feedback for structures to ensure calls are responded easily and efficiently.
- Ensure responses are prompt and all text messages and calls are answered within a reasonable amount of time, standards are set by the Director for Community Engagement following program launch.
- Complete programmatic intakes as requested and planned, support overall programmatic responsiveness in case of a surge of calls.
- Attend all required onsite training for hotline and community outreach coordinators.
Skills and Qualifications
- An associate’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years of working experience is needed, bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience managing a high volume of phone calls and speaking with people in an empathetic but efficient manner is a plus.
- Excellent computer literacy skills and with online platforms is required, experience with online call systems is an asset.
- Strong verbal communication skills especially when working with community members seeking services in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to guide clients via a script to provide information over public sector programs in their designated region.
- Able to adapt to interacting with many different personality types with empathy and composure.
- Maintaining composure under a high-pressure environment while maintaining empathy for clients matters.
- Experience with community outreach and engaging with the diverse Latina/o/e/x populations in the United States and Puerto Rico.
- Must have access to reliable, consistent internet and have access to technology to properly engage in required technology and applications.
- High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative.
- Advanced Spanish language fluency in writing and speaking is required.
Compensation:
Salary range for this position is $40,000 to $45,0000 and is commensurate with experience. Compensation includes a robust benefits package including fully paid medical, dental and vision insurance available upon hire, 403(b) retirement plans with a company match after 6 months, and access to flexible spending and pre-tax commuter benefits.
