INSIGHTS MANAGER, CORPORATE STRATEGY - OVERVIEW:Elevate is looking for an individual to join our internal corporate strategy team. This individual will focus on driving strategic growth initiatives and supporting decision making at the executive level. This role will focus on identifying growth opportunities, conducting primary and secondary research, leading business analyses, developing presentations, and delivering insights to executive stakeholders. This position requires a deep understanding of business opportunities within the sports agency landscape, strong project management skills, and a high level of financial and analytical acumen.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Project Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, execution, and implementation of short-term and long-term strategy initiatives across the agency
- Be a key member of Elevate's corporate development team including identifying potential acquisition targets, leading diligence processes, and developing valuation models and other deal materials
- Lead cross-functional strategy projects related to growth initiatives, new business development, and M&A
- Lead analyses that drive organizational efficiency and performance both operationally and financially
- Build financial models to inform business decisions and communicate results to leadership and other stakeholders
- Analyze complex, high-volume data sets to identify trends and actionable insights
- Build high-quality visualizations that illustrate the stories underlying the data we collect
- Conduct sports and entertainment industry research focused on (but not limited to) teams, venues, competitors, trends, client prospects, and current events
Team Management:
- Develop analysts and interns by providing learning opportunities across technical, analytical and "soft skill" competencies
- Collaborate with internal partners to provide all relevant Elevate solutions and capabilities on each engagement
- Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding activities with new Insights team members
QUALIFICATIONS:The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential functions of this position. A. Education and/or Experience:Manager: Three+ (3+) years of work experience within management consulting, investment banking, or an FP&A or corporate strategy within a large organization
Previous sports industry experience is a plus, but not required
B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:- High level of financial acumen with demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, valuation, M&A, and financial strategy
- Extensive knowledge of the sports business landscape with the ability to identify trends and opportunities as they relate to Elevate's business initiatives
- Ability to concisely communicate complex statistical and financial insights and findings to all levels of stakeholders
- Ability to conduct rigorous data analysis resulting in high-quality models and presentations
- Effective people management skills, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to lead concurrent projects and prioritize under the pressure of deadlines
- Ability to develop frameworks and project management tools to guide project approach, timelines, reporting, and decision-making
- Intellectual curiosity, creativity, analytical approach, attention to detail, and results-driven
- Strong research skills with the ability to translate data insights into stories
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and public-speaking experience
- Power user of the MS Office suite, in particular, Excel
- Power user of the Google Drive suite, including Google Slides & Google Sheets
- Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools a plus
- Experience with SQL, R, or SAS is a plus
