Accountability:The Lead Auditor, reporting to the Manager, Performance Management & Lean, will oversee and manage all aspects of Quality and Audits, working closely with various teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities - Establish and implement the Quality Management Plan (QMS) per contractual requirements.
- Lead planning, review, and delivery of QMS documents and processes.
- Ensure compliance of project deliverables through inspections and audits.
- Monitor Operations and Maintenance activities; schedule and document audits and inspections.
- Manage non-conformance reports and corrective actions; maintain the Non-Conformance Tracking System.
- Provide leadership and support for continuous improvement and cost reductions.
- Conduct Operation and Maintenance audits per QMS.
- Establish and sustain Quality & Audit processes.
- Ensure effective processing of Operational audit activities and compliance with standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 19011).
- Oversee audit processes and minimize their impact on ridership and service availability.
- Lead Supplier quality audits with partners and subcontractors.
- Facilitate problem-solving and improve Quality team efficiency.
- Implement corrective and preventive action systems; involve relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure quality records are traceable and updated.
- Support reporting through Quality indicators; identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, Provincial, and Municipal regulations.
- Plan and allocate resources based on skills and schedules.
- Reinforce and implement QMS for required Quality performance.
- Guide project teams on Quality contributions; provide Quality training.
- Implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Validate process improvement results through follow-up reviews.
- Maintain audit independence and objectivity; develop effective partnerships.
- Analyze feedback to identify new opportunities.
- Lead yearly OOI Audit plan compliance.
- Stay updated on auditing developments.
- Develop and manage audit plans and schedules.
- Ensure fair and useful audit reports.
- Evaluate compliance with quality and legal requirements.
- Participate in and follow up on audits.
- Develop internal auditing/testing parameters.
- Establish best practices per regulations and industry trends.
- Coordinate with independent assessors.
QualificationsEducation & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or a matching combination of education and working experience
- Knowledge of railway systems or experience is highly desired
Required Skills: - Good understanding of quality management systems and the requirements associated with ISO 9001 or IRIS standard
- Perform effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment - comfortable to act with uncertainty and able to create new systems, policies and procedures with limited resources and a need to a quick yet high quality implementation
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication;
- Must possess collaborative behavior, initiative, professionalism, candor and tact;
- Must be able to manage and interface with the client.
- Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, resources, projects and assignments.
- Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders in clear and organized written and oral formats;
- Must have strong computer skills including MS Office suite;
- Solid knowledge of managing audits and PM schedules is a must
- Exceptional listening, communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications: - Lead Auditor certification, Professional Engineer (PEng) registration is a plus; PMP (Project Management Professional) is a plus; QMS: ISO 9001 certification is an asset; and Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician certification (CQT) is an asset.
Physical Requirements: - Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time and operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
