Position SummaryThe
Electrical Contractor Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing electrical construction projects from inception to completion. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to customer specifications, safety regulations, and company quality standards. The Project Manager will work closely with clients, subcontractors, field teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of electrical construction projects.
- Manage budgets, track project costs, and ensure financial objectives are met.
- Coordinate with engineers, field supervisors, electricians, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, enforce safety standards, and address any issues.
- Review project designs, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and managing expectations.
- Ensure adherence to NEC, OSHA, and local electrical codes and regulations.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, troubleshooting challenges as they arise.
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery.
- Manage documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and project reports.
Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical project management, preferably in commercial or industrial contracting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, NEC codes, and safety regulations.
- Experience managing subcontractors, labor teams, and vendor relationships.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documents.
- PMP or electrical contractor license is a plus.
Physical Requirements- Ability to travel to job sites as required.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate active construction sites.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
