Job DescriptionThe Division of Facilities Construction & Management (DFCM) is seeking a new Assistant Director. If you are a management professional with experience in construction and facilities management, and are interested in having a statewide impact on facility construction and management, we are looking for you!
Principal DutiesAs the Assistant Director you will:
- Assist the Division Director to develop, plan, and administer statewide facility management program.
- Present division information to committees, boards, and the legislature.
- Manage the Facility Program budget to ensure proper spending of state funds.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure that division employees deliver work consistent with state standards and codes.
- Develop and implement operating policies governing division functions and practices.
- Develop and implement long-range plans and programs.
- Manage the administrative functions of the Division, including
- the management and coordination of daily activities and processes.
- the development and implementation of division emergency response processes.
- the supervision of subordinate personnel.
Minimum QualificationsThe best qualified candidate for this position will have at least 6 years of experience:
- Managing a large Facilities Program.
- Developing and managing a large budget.
- Managing subordinate personnel, Including hiring, performance management, discipline, and termination.
- Presenting to large professional audiences.
- As a facilities management professional.

- Working Conditions: Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g. safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Some visitation of construction sites may be required, during which hard hats or other protective gear will be provided.
