Position SummaryAcuren is currently recruiting for an Intermediate CP Engineer to support our operations in Denver, CO.
The Intermediate CP Engineer/Technologist performs engineering, technical and project management duties that support assigned projects. Job tasks include but are not limited to: execution and supervision of field activities, data review and analysis, proposal and quotation preparation, reporting, invoicing, scheduling, maintaining communication with project team and client, cost tracking, writing and maintain procedures, and contributing to team initiatives.
Responsibilities- Provide engineering support to design and install or inspect and repair cathodic protection systems for clients.
- Communicate with engineering firms and client companies to obtain requisite technical information to complete detailed design packages, inspection programs and coordinate installation and inspection activities.
- Diagnose and troubleshot CP and alternating current (AC) mitigation system deficiencies, independently conducting and supervising various types of assessments and applying knowledge of engineering principles and corrosion theory to execute projects.
- Utilize HawkEye to conduct field tests and surveys for pipeline operations (e.g., structure potential, close interval potential, AC or direct current voltage gradient, AC current attenuation, line locating, soil resistivity, coating condition and integrity).
- Calibrate test instruments, writing detailed reports, providing issue resolution.
- Recommend and contribute to the continual improvement quality process and assisting with updating internal procedures.
- Monitor and control project schedules, costs, quality, safety, efficiency, scope, and other project management components.
- Responsible for producing an "output model" for the HawkEye process to be built to data review and reporting specifications.
- Maintain and update the issue log and assists the HawkEye development team with issue resolution
Requirements- At least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in Cathodic Protection
- At least 3 years of experience utilizing the HawkEye system to support research and development
- At least 3 years of advanced Microsoft Excel/Visual Basic Application skills to support cathodic protection engineering data analysis and database management
- At least 3 years of experience with NACE SP0502 (Pipeline External Corrosion Direct Assessment Methodology)
- NACE CP1 certification
