San Diego Network Integrator and low voltage contractor is looking for an experienced, hard working, motivated, reliable and technology savvy Lead Cable/Wiring/AV Technician. Must be able to lead a small crew to do a variety of tasks including pulling and termination of copper cable for data and telecom, fiber optic cabling and termination, installation of a variety of security cameras, as well as wireless access points. A minimum of three (3) years of experience is required.
Position requires the following skills:
• Proper techniques for pulling copper and fiber optic cabling
• Experience with terminating data, telecom, and fiber optic cables
• Experience with using a bucket truck
• Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds
• Ability to work independently as well as manage a small crew
• Rodding and fishing both underground and above ground conduit
• Work in a variety of settings on ladders, roofs, inside and outside
• Effective communications with customers, management, and fellow employees
• Ability to use a variety of computer apps for invoicing, emailing, and spreadsheets
• A valid California drivers license with clean DMV required
• Working knowledge of common trade tools such as cable testers, cable pulling equipment, rodders, compressors, and assorted power tools
• Strong ability to follow proper procedures and follow a scope of work
• Experience with AV equipment such as projectors, speakers, AV control systems, and the Windows operating system
• Must possess excellent written communications skills for work order updates
• Honesty, Integrity and a strong desire to learn more and gain industry certifications
Verifiable industry certifications are desirable. You must be able to work standard hours as well as overtime when required. All employees are drug tested before being hired.
