Salary Scale: $68,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually
Summary:
Employees in this position have the expertise for cost accounting and account payable functions including supervision and training of employee(s), analysis of customer invoices report, general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account reconciliations, and cost accounting analysis including physical inventory. They review services and goods, record data, and make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options. They will ensure all financial records and statements are in line with laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GASP).
Essential Duties and Requirements included but not limited to:
- Manage the cost accounting role understanding the global policies and manage the average costing process.
- Manage the yearly physical inventory for both locations; U.S. and Mexico facilities and assist with
- reports and reconciliation.
- Financial Management of the P&L, Balance sheet and cash flow statements for our North
- Lead with upper management in preparing budgets and forecasts for the North American entities
- Lead the month end accounting, reporting and the implementation/adherence of financial controls consistent with US GAAP accounting and corporate policies for the NA entity.
- Participate as a member of the extended leadership team, acting as counsel to other cross functional areas (Engineering, Sales, Operations, Sourcing, etc.) to enable sound business decisions with data based financial modeling and analysis.
- Performs make/buy analysis and other financial modeling associated with Capital expenditures and new product development.
- Act in a global capacity to assist with the financial management, accounting, consolidation of financial statements for corporate reporting
- Assist and prepare the revenue recognition report monthly.
- Review and Analyze sales to ensure healthy margins and coordinate with engineering if there are discrepancies in quantities, costs, etc.
- Analyze and review the average costs for both locations in USA and Mexico to ensure accuracy.
- Manage the MRB and RMA process and transactions.
- Supervision of employees whose responsibilities include cost accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Review with the accounting department employee(s) the open items such as AP past due invoices, accuracy in actual costs and margins, inventory variances, etc. having a weekly meeting.
- The positions in charge of the cost accountant supervisor are Accounts Payable analyst and Cost Accountant Sr. The Accounts Payable position also assists with the Accounts Receivable functions.
- If one of the positions under the cost account supervisor is open, he/she has the authority to hire personnel.
- The cost accountant supervisor has the authority to terminate one or both employee(s) or recommend termination if the job performance is unsatisfactory.
- The Cost Accountant supervisor has the authority to perform other personnel actions as necessary with HR support.
Level of Responsibility:
Participate as a member of the extended leadership team, acting as counsel to other cross functional areas to enable sound business decisions with data based financial modeling and analysis. Responsible for completion of cost accounting processes manages and interpreting cost accounting reports for presentation to upper management.

- Three (3) or more years of experience in the field of general accounting
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of accounting skills
- Knowledge of financial reporting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant.
- amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in assisting and providing supporting documentation for audits.
- Proficient in data entry and management
- Expert in MS Excel
- Knowledge of CETEC ERP system
