Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Long Beach, CA
Target Hourly Range: $95k - $100K (DOE)
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing business support for VP-Finance and Field organization. This position will assist in managing Regional Company budgeting and forecasting, pricing analysis, customer and segment profitability, same-store sales, sales by major product group, margin analysis, operating cost analysis, capital expenditures, acquisition analysis and due diligence, inventory management, cylinder/asset management, certain compliance related activities and other ad hoc analyses. This will require a seasoned professional that is data savvy and must possess exceptionally strong analytical skills.
- Manage, analyze and report financial and operating metrics, such as same-store sales, gross margins, operating expenses, asset utilization, capital expenditures, forecasting and spending targets, etc.
- Prepare information, reports and financial data to support acquisition due diligence and integration.
- Direct the work assignments and provide assistance to the regional financial analyst team.
- Responsible for managing various financial projects and programs as necessary.
- Perform extensive financial modeling in support of the Division as well as Corporate FP&A.
- Responsible for compliance of Company policies and procedures at the local level, evaluate and provide feedback for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provide training to financial analysts as needed.
- Utilize the various business reports and metrics to evaluate, interpret, and provide critical information in support of strategic and operating decisions.
- Analyze product price increase processes and provide support and analysis for sales and marketing related to customer price realization (i.e., measurement of periodic price increases
- and other pricing initiatives designed to enhance profitability).
- Assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Prepare analyses related to local compensation programs, including gain sharing & various monthly and quarterly commission programs.
- Work closely with the VP-Finance and Division finance support teams to better understand historical financial results, trends and validate forecast assumptions. Assist with field audit activities regarding internal controls, SOP compliance and SOX compliance, as needed.
- Adhere to and assure compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards promulgated by Federal, State and other applicable agencies or regulating bodies.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field; MBA and/or CPA a plus
- Five (5) plus years experience in financial accounting/ analysis in positions of increasing responsibility
- Advanced experience with SAP required – Super User preferred
- Must possess superior data mining and reporting skills
- The successful candidate must demonstrate the leadership skills required to drive continuous improvement of processes.
- To be successful, the Senior Financial Business Analyst should possess exceptionally strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage a wide variety of data and related computer tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a timely and efficient manner and anticipating critical deadlines
- Ability to work independently and use judgment to resolve both routine and non routine issues
- This position must be able to build effective relationships with all levels and roles in the organization.
