Job Title : NSE (Nautical System Engineer)
Location : Remote
Duration : 12+ Months Contract
Job Description
1. Should be familiar with the following NSE modules.
a. Crewing and Payroll
b. Maintenance and Purchasing
c. Replication
d. General Data
e. System Admin
2. InDepth knowledge of replication Process
a. How files are generated
b. How files are used to update DB
c. How files are sent between locations (Central and Vessel)
d. How to cut a database and install to a location
e. How to cut database and create Vessel DB.
f. Understanding about replications issues between central and vessels and how to resolve them.
3. Should have a good understanding of the data model behind the application.
a. Understand major entities
b. Understand relationships between entities
c. How to apply upgrade NSE with minor patched released by ABS.
d. Drafting a test plan based on the upgrade release notes and conducting tests in lower environment.
4. Understand how NSE interfaces with other Applications/Entities
a. Unions
b. Payroll Applications
c. AP applications
5. Good idea of how vessel operates NSE
a. How vessel officers use
b. What vessel officers expect
6. Production support
a. Identifying and resolving both functional and technical solutions based on the priority.
b. Making sure the application is running without any issues
