Role Description
Nova Engineering Team is looking for an Engineering Director for our VeraFlex product line. The selected person will be the leader of a highly skilled and efficient team of System, Hardware and Software Engineers with significant combined experience in instrumentation for Semiconductor production environment. This position requires excellent technical, organizational and people skills and responsible for all technical aspects of the development of this product line.
Pay Range: $200,000- $250,000 Annually (DOE)

Responsibilities
This role reports to the VP of Engineering at NOVA MMD division and oversees all Engineering aspects of the Product Line development. This includes Continuous Improvement programs, next generation architecture definition and planning, resource management and technical communication with Customers. This person is the direct interface from Engineering to Marketing - both Product Management and Applications – Manufacturing, Sales and Service. The core System Engineers on this product will report directly to this position. Additional roles and responsibilities are:
- Technical interface to both internal and external customers
- Along with a dedicated Project Manager, coordinates and leads all resources assigned to projects on this Product Line
- Provides technical information to Marketing and Product Management and visits customers in technical meetings
- Engineering member of the product PLC Team, driving the PLC process and leading gate exits
- Responsible for the complete release documentation of the product to Manufacturing and Service
- Will thoroughly understand the architecture of the tool, provide scientific and technical guidance to the development team
- Familiar with the application space of the instrument, can propose/develop new operating modes to explore novel material and layers
- Interfaced with Advanced R&D group to define the product development roadmap
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical experience in product development
- Must have 10+ year in people management
- Be able to balance independent work, accountability, and ownership of complex projects with teamwork, collaboration, and sense of accountability and urgency
- Demanding high quality work product with focus on the team’s needs at hand and understanding of timeline, budget, scope and other practical constraints
- Highly skilled in general scientific thinking and approach to problem solving but uses his/her intuition and experience to fill gaps in the information space
- Has consistent, logical, and analytical approach to solving problems with good reasoning skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and project management skills (leading teams and coordinating projects)
- Highly motivated individual with broad experience in applied high vacuum systems for electron beam and x-rays related technologies, including XPS and XRF
- Extensive experience working with hardware components, basic electronics modules, and diagnostics instrumentation is a must
- Knowledge of clean vacuum systems (1e-7 torr) and vacuum-related design is a must
- Degree in hard science and/or an Engineering discipline is required, MS or PhD preferred
- Prior knowledge of Semiconductor Capital market and exposure to customers in that marketplace
