JOB DESCRIPTION
The Electrical Estimator reports to the Project Management Team and accurately estimates labor, materials, subcontractors, and associated costs for electrical construction on various projects, including low-voltage and fire-alarm systems, in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop project estimates.
• Develop project labor and material values.
• Request quotes for fixtures, equipment, and significant material purchases from vendors.
• Attend, if necessary, on-site walk-through.
• Review all RFI's for project understanding, costs, and risks.
• Review bid documents, Contracts, and Letters of Intent to verify the scope of the projects.
• Attend Meetings with various owners, developers, & general contractors if required.
• Complete accurate estimate takeoff using onscreen estimating software.
• Evaluate and communicate project risk- Manage multiple bids while meeting rigorous deadlines in a high-pressure work environment.
• Organize previous takeoffs and estimates for future project review and time study.
• Perform subcontractor and vendor estimate reviews.
• Assist in developing initial budgets and estimates for design-build projects. Review cost estimates with management for potential scope gaps and finalize bids for submission.
• Analyze subcontractor scope and select a better and more competitive price.
• Understand a project's workings and sequencing, including construction schedule, tie-ins, and shutdowns.
• Obtain and negotiate the best possible pricing from suppliers and subcontractors within the company Code of Ethics.
• Implement safety operations and assist the company with overseeing the best workplace and job site safety practices.
• Travel to bidding "job walks" and job site assessments and prepare/take notes and photographs for bidding and work use.
Qualifications:
• Must have field experience in the electrical construction field,
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical estimation.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required. A bachelor's degree in construction science and management, engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related field is a plus.
• Able to read and comprehend Civil, Architectural, Plumbing & Mechanical drawings and specifications
• General knowledge of contract delivery methods
• Knowledge and experience with estimating software (preferred BidWinner)
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Must complete an employment background check, including a drug screening.
Job Type: Full-time, In Office (Fontana, CA)
Pay: $75,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
