Job Description:
We seek compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSP) I & II to join our team at our Adult Residential Facility in Inglewood. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in helping adults with developmental disabilities achieve their personal goals, increase independence, and live meaningful lives in a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
DSP I – Entry-Level:
• Provide direct care and supervision to residents following individual service plans (ISPs).
• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Support residents in community integration activities and outings.
• Monitor and document behaviors, progress, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety within the facility.
• Follow established policies, procedures, and licensing regulations.
DSP II – Experienced/Advanced:
• All DSP I duties plus:
• Assist in developing and implementing individualized programs.
• Train and mentor DSP I staff as needed.
• Administer medications as prescribed (after completing appropriate training).
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to behavior and care planning.
• Act as shift lead when required, ensuring proper documentation and care continuity.
Qualifications:
For DSP I:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid California ID or Driver’s License.
• Ability to pass background check, TB test, and health screening.
• Basic First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
For DSP II:
• All DSP I qualifications plus:
• At least 6-12 months of experience working in an Adult Residential or similar care setting.
• DSP I and II certifications (or willingness to complete within the required timeframe).
• Medication Administration Training Certificate (preferred).
• Become familiar with Title 22 and DDS guidelines.
