BEERTENDER
Los Angeles Ale Works (LAAW) is seeking to hire an experienced part-time Beertender to work in our Culver City and Hawthorne tasting rooms. What we wish to find is a self-motivated person with a positive attitude that is passionate about beer and that is willing to pitch in where needed. We are a small company that wants you to have fun and grow with us. Pay $16.50 per hour plus tips.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide every guest with a memorable experience based around a high level of customer service and proper beer serving
- Maintain strict compliance with all applicable local and state laws including but not limited to age verification and refusal to over serve customers
- Maintain working knowledge of all beers and nonalcoholic beverages served by LAAW, including the differences between styles and the specialty ingredients that separate our beers from others
- Educate guests about the LAAW brand and community as well as craft beer
- Maintain inventory of kegs, glassware and merchandise
- Maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of the brewery, tasting room and public areas, including immediately removing dirty glassware, wiping down tables, washing and sterilizing glassware, restroom cleaning and other duties deemed necessary to creating a positive experience.
- Complete all daily side work, opening and closing duties
- Organizing, cleaning, and folding of merchandise storage and display area
- Maintain cleanliness of brewery entrance, perimeter, parking lot, vendor area and turfed patio
- Process orders and payments in Square POS system
- Complete cash handling, credit card transactions and balance register at end of shift
-Ensure each guest is treated with the best possible customer service
- Cicerone certification preferred
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior brewery tasting room experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills and friendly personality
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain calm under pressure or when dealing with disgruntled customers
- Must be able to communicate clearly and maintain a professional appearance
- Be physically able to stand for long periods of time and regularly lift 25-50 lbs. Occasional lifting, pushing, moving of ½ barrel kegs (160 lbs.) with assistance.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Complete training, including Responsible Beverage Service, as required by the ABC.
