Overview:
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician who is a versatile service professional responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving residential and commercial properties. This role includes a wide range of tasks such as minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work, appliance installation, space preparation for improvements, as well as light gardening and cleaning. This is a position that will be in multiple customer locations per day so reliable transportation is required. The ideal candidate would be a person who has experience being a handyman or journeyman and who possesses the values we’re looking for which would include bringing customers value, honesty, and dependability.
Key Responsibilities:
Routine Maintenance: Perform regular upkeep and inspections on equipment, machinery, and buildings to ensure proper functioning.
Repairs: Troubleshoot and fix electrical issues, including faulty switches, outlets, and circuit breakers.
Creation and management of maintenance schedules: Create and manage the maintenance schedule for each customer. Track progress and ensure compliance with standards set forth by the company
Installations: Install various household appliances, safety devices (e.g., smoke and carbon monoxide alarms), and window locks.
Cleaning & Remodeling: Clean and maintain shared spaces, and assist with minor remodeling tasks when needed.
Emergency Audits: Conduct emergency assessments to identify and address urgent maintenance concerns.
Problem Solving: Identify issues and determine the best solutions to resolve them efficiently.
Reporting: Keep management informed about maintenance issues and provide recommendations for specialized repairs.
Specialized Recommendations: Refer complex repair tasks to skilled professionals when necessary.
Basic computer networking (is a plus): Ability to setup wifi routers, troubleshoot existing home/office networks, etc.
Traveling Between Locations: Travel from location to location to perform work at various customer sites, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
Scheduling: Follow a daily or weekly schedule assigned by management, ensuring all tasks are completed as planned and on time.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools proficiently.
Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC operations.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Experience working with various hardware tools and power equipment.
Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for traveling between customer locations.
Ability to follow schedules and adjust work priorities as needed.
Ability to learn mobile and web applications
Ability to learn Office software (e.g. google sheets, docs, etc.)
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational training in fields such as construction, electrical, HVAC, welding, small appliance repair, or landscaping.
Training can and will be provided for gaps in skills (e.g. technology setup) but must come with experience performing handyman/journeyman/construction work. Learning on the job for minor jobs are acceptable
