Summary: The Teabag Machine Operator is a crucial member of the Art of Tea production team. This role involves operating teabag machines, specifically Miflex or Fuso, ensuring smooth and efficient production processes. Responsibilities include monitoring machine speed and loads, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring high-quality output.
Responsibilities:
• Operate assigned teabag machines, including Miflex or Fuso, and perform all associated tasks such as preventative maintenance, machine changeovers, and operational efficiency adjustments.
• Startup machines and observe operations to detect malfunctions.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure best practices are followed.
• Identify and report defective materials.
• Maintain a safe work area, keeping an eye out for potential hazards.
• Manage rework during downtime.
• Manually record data as required and adjust processes based on findings.
• Ensure completion of quality checks and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Complete required documentation to maintain packaging specifications.
• Verify specifications such as temperature, fill weights, and codes.
• Document causes of downtime on the downtime sheet.
• Report food safety and quality problems to supervisor.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience operating a teabag machine in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to understand units of measure and record information.
• Willingness to work any assigned shift.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written work-related instructions.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Ability to track and record production information as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to push and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to continuously stand and/or walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
• Ability to repeatedly kneel, bend, crouch, and/or stoop throughout the shift as needed to perform job duties.
Shifts/Schedules:
• 8-hour shifts with opportunities for overtime.
