Senior Payroll Manager - Vienna, VA
$150K - $175k
Position Overview
Oversee and direct payroll procedures within a $1B government contracting company. Responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant laws and tax obligations, supervising the payroll team, and maintaining accurate payroll records. Sr Payroll Manager is responsible for various tasks related to payroll administration. Develop systems to process payroll transactions, coordinate timekeeping systems, oversee payroll changes and system upgrades, ensure compliance with laws and internal policies, supervise and coach payroll staff, liaise with auditors for payroll tax audits, collaborate with HR and accounting teams, maintain accurate records, and resolve payroll-related issues.
Education and Experience required:
- Federal government contracting experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, or other related field, and minimum of 10-15 years of payroll experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deltek Costpoint experience but Oracle is a plus. Oracle Fusion Cloud payroll experience preferred.
- Payroll certifications preferred.
- Experience with transitioning payroll systems and processes from existing to new platform.
- Must have payroll software implementation experience.
- Must have run large payrolls of 5000 employees (1000 employee count would be too low).
- Must have payroll tax and payroll close out experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise/manage a department and have authority over all performance decisions.
Hybrid Requirements:
- Must be willing to follow our corporate model of MWF in office and T, Thu work from home.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities required:
- Knowledge of outsourced payroll components such as tax and garnishments.
- Knowledge of enterprise-wide payroll systems, including configuration.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax laws and the implementation of compliance requirements as it pertains to payroll services.
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in payroll processing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365.
